and designed by Giger, with commentaries by the artist. The authentic all-round Giger profile.
The name
HR Giger
stands for thirty years of Fantasy Art. He first achieved acclaim in the 6os with his
airbrushed fantasy landscapes, and went on to score his breakthrough in
applied art,
particularly in highly visible movie work - such as his design for Ridley Scott's "Alien",
which earned Giger a
Best Visual Effects Oscar.
His album covers for Debbie Harry and Emerson, Lake and Palmer were voted among the top hundred
in music history by music journalists, while furniture designed by Giger graces bars in
Tokyo and Chur, Switzerland.
Recently he designed Li for the blockbuster movie "Species". This book was designed by
the artist himself and features detailed commentaries in which Giger describes his
work from the early 6os to the present - the authentic voice of the master.
